The purpose of the Auxiliary is to assist the fire department (provide food at fires, raising funds
for additional equipment, etc) and township government in their efforts to provide fire protection
and a safe environment for all residents of Greenwood Township.
Regular Meetings of the Greenwood Auxiliary will be: March 23 - April 27 - May 25 - June 22 - July 27 - Aug 24 - Sept 28 - Oct 26 and Dec 7, 2010. A spaghetti feed is held on the first Saturday in May (May 1st, 2010 - serving from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m) at the town hall to welcome back our residents who travel south for the winter months. Net proceeds over the cost of the meal go to the fire department. An annual barbecue is our main fund raiser. In 2010, the barbecue will be held on July 31. See you there! Prize drawings and a bake sale are held in conjunction with the barbecue. Get more details of the 2010 BBQ HERE! A pizza party is held on the 3rd Thursday of October each year to present the Fire Department with a check for funds raised throughout the year. It is held at the Vermilion Club with a social time beginning at 5:30 pm. Get more info for the 2010 Pizza Party HERE! In 2010 there will be a Holiday Pot Luck on December 7 starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Town Hall. Membership is open to all residents of Greenwood Township. No dues are charged for membership. If you have not attended any of the meetings, please consider visiting and becoming a new member. The Sunshine Committee sends get well, thinking of you and sympathy cards to township residents as well as a congratulation card on the birth of a child. The Sales Committee sells items to supplement the donations to the fire department and the local community. Items range from Lake Vermilion note cards, a few tangerine tote bags and new this year are caps and visors. All totes and caps/visors are $15 each.
